Let’s Talk About One-to-One…
I work one-to-one with children and the adults in their lives. This work happens in classrooms, in homes, on Zoom, and in other settings — depending on the specific situation.
In classrooms - I work with children
I offer private:
Special Education Itinerant Teaching (SEIT) services for children 3-5 years old
Special Instruction (SI) for children 0-3 years old
My work supports their development of:
Pragmatic language
Social skills
General classroom functioning
Self regulation
I work with a therapeutic team to approach and strategize about developmental goals, including:
Speech & Language Therapists
Occupational Therapists
Physical Therapists
I support your child’s goals to make time in the classroom productive and successful.
Outside classrooms - I work with children and adults
I offer play therapy sessions for children 0-5 years old in 60 minute sessions, usually at home. Play therapy is a way for a child to work on global development through play, including these themes:
Social emotional regulation
Language & communication
Social skills
Cognitive learning
I also offer parenting support, alongside play therapy or as a separate service.
During the initial session, I collect a comprehensive family history and begin to understand your child, your parenting style, the questions you have, and the challenges you are facing. You leave the initial session with at least a few strategies to get started with.
Subsequent sessions will help you feel empowered in your parenting decisions and help you understand your child’s developmental stage. Customizable plans may include these topics:
Transitions — between activities, caregivers, and routines
Behavior — and how should I adjust my expectations to the current environment?
Parenting amongst others — including partners, caregivers, extended family
Sleep
Potty training
Creating routines and setting boundaries
Sibling relationships
Developmental milestones
Developmental variations — diagnosed or undiagnosed special needs
Self-care & managing expectations and guilt
How to set up play experiences
Expectations of play
Extending play with household items
Managing educational expectations
Balancing family schedules
Changes in behavior and regression
Language to use with your children around the changing world
Cost
My private client rate is $225 per hour, with a half-hour minimum. A sliding scale is available in some situations.
